“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost”
There are different kinds of prayers and for different purposes but offered only to God. A prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian and when you refuse to pray, you will soon become a prey.
Have you ever felt so dry? Not motivated to do anything, your Communion with the Spirit is becoming boring, the Bible seems to be locked to you, you even feel God has left and your heart is so burdened….This must have happened to you one time or the other. In this case, it might be a function of the mind especially when you are staying in a place for some time far away from regular brethren. At other times you might be a need for a retreat to get up again. But I discovered recently a fast way to recover- it is painstakingly praying in the Spirit. It makes your Spirit come back active.
Prayer of edification is what every believer needs. Edification is the act of building up especially in a spiritual sense. Apart from when feeling dry, (which should not be a normal state for a believer) you can never reach the stage at which your building up is completed. You need to keep building, getting more of Him to become better and more like God. If you would make it a habit to always pray in tongues, your spirit will be nourished, your perception sharpens and you will always be at alert for the Lord. Tongue to a believer is a fuel that helps your spirit man to develop in no time and always. 1Corinthians 14:4.
