Pride (Part 2)

TEXT: Acts 12:21-23

INTRODUCTION: Pride is innate in every flesh. We cannot truly know someone who is proud until when he is great. You are nothing and are humble, let’s see if you will be humble when you become great.

Acts 12:21 “And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. 12:22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Every God’s glory ascribed to ourself is a path to destruction. One thing is to be flattered, another thing is to know how to respond to it without putting on a thought that shows pride. Every man has tendency to be proud but since pride can be controlled, by following the orders of the Holy Spirit, then we have no excuse. The moment you begin to choose for yourself, you declare an independent.

King Herod was flattered to believing that he was a god and he didn’t say any word. He was even happy about it. God proved to him that He is the God of gods. Whoever you think you are is not even by your skill, intelligence, might, ability, or even anointing but mercy. Successes are repetitive. Whatever you aspire to become or that you have become is a repetition of what has been become by some people and had died…

Pride begins from thoughts. Unless we learn to habitually and constantly renew our minds, we cannot have power of thoughts impositions on our thoughts. When the mind of man is renewed, such mind is NOT vulnerable to demonic manipulation and impulse action nor indecision neither wavering. Let this mind be in you…Phil 2:5-11. We are to put on Christ (the word). The word of God deconstruct and reconstruct mind. We cannot dominate pride unless the word dominates us!

NOTE: Cast your crowns before Jesus as the 24 elders do in the bible to show awe submission. Humility connotes doing exactly what the Holy Spirit asks you to do without arguing despite its foolishnesses.

1) Father I thank you for today

2) Father please have mercy on me

3) Father please enable me to always submit myself

4) Father please give me total victory over pride

5) Father please enable me to deny myself

6) Pray in the spirit
